KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 16 October 2023 – Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, has received two new awards from the CarPlus Editor’s Choice Award 2022-2023, namely the ‘Pick-up Truck of the Year’ award for its Next-Gen Ranger and ‘Car of the Year’ for the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor.

The Next-Generation Ford Ranger boasts an updated design with enhanced aerodynamics and improved interior comfort. It features a range of powerful, efficient engines with a host of class-leading intuitive technologies and a comprehensive suite of best-in-class safety features. In Malaysia, the Next-Gen Ranger line-up comprises nine variants, from the base workhorse XL Single Cab to the premium lifestyle WildTrak and high-performance Ranger Raptor.
Designed and engineered with Ford’s Performance DNA, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor is available with two highly-tuned engine selections. The ultra-performance 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol powertrain delivers up to 397 PS and 583Nm torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel engine offers a power output of up to 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque with competitive fuel consumption of 8.2L/100km.
The CarPlus Editor’s Choice Award celebrates automotive excellence in Malaysia and aims to honour the most outstanding vehicles across various categories, highlighting their exceptional performance, design, innovation and overall driving experience. Nominations are derived from new models launched in Malaysia between July 2022 – July 2023 (last 12 months).
