Choosing a New Family Vehicle? Ford Says This Is What You Need.
What do you look for in a family car? You’ll want safety and convenience, but you’ll also want something that’s fun to drive. Your car is part of the family and is always there for the cherished moments you’ll spend together, from the daily commute to weekend road trips.

According to a recent survey by Ford Motor Company, drivers across Asia are embracing SUVs as family vehicles. Versatility and spaciousness are popular SUV traits for families who drive them every day, including long-distance journeys – and the Ford Everest fits right into your lifestyle. It offers convenience features to make life easier, highly-advanced safety features to enhance protection and purpose-built off-road capability for any adventure.

Clever convenience
With seating for seven and plenty of interior space, the Ford Everest can accommodate not just your kids, but grandpa and grandma too, for every road trip, no matter how near or far. Whatever the occasion, the Everest is the ideal family vehicle, as 42 percent of Chinese families say that a seven-seat SUV allows the whole family to travel together, according to a 2016 survey conducted by Ford China.

Everest’s SYNC 3® brings on-the-go entertainment, with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility allowing you to pair up your smartphone for hands-free access to smartphone apps like music, podcasts and audiobooks. Make voice-activated, hands-free phone calls, or use the integrated Satellite Navigation System to explore unbeaten paths and return home safely afterwards.

Versatility is a top trait in SUVs, as indicated by 30 percent of respondents in China. And the Everest shows its flexibility with PowerFold® third-row seats, which fold flat into the floor at the push of a button, creating even more room for all the essentials.

Keyless entry and push-button start mean that you’ll no longer have to fumble for your key. Simply leave it in your pocket, open the door, push the button and off you go.

Hands full with your kids or gear? No worries – the Everest features Ford’s hands-free liftgate. Just wave your foot under the rear bumper to open or close the tailgate automatically. It even makes for a neat trick to impress your kids.

Safe and smart technology
Safety is an important consideration for any family car buyer, especially when traveling with children. Chinese drivers recognize that fact, with 85 percent of respondents saying that they secure their child in a car seat while driving.

Over half of Chinese respondents (54 percent) are also familiar with and have used driver-assist technologies (DATs), and the Everest is equipped with the latest advanced DATs to help provide a safe driving experience.

While you should always pay attention while driving, the Everest’s Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system helps avoid collisions and reduce risks if you become distracted, such as when the kids are making too much noise in the back seat. AEB is able to detect both vehicles and pedestrians and sends audible and visual warnings to alert you about an impending frontal collision. And if you don’t react quickly enough, AEB will automatically apply the brakes to lessen the impact of a collision.

Lane Keeping System is another safety feature designed to protect your family. If you start to drift out of the lane without your indicators on, the system will alert you with a steering wheel vibration. If you continue to drift further, the system will gently apply torque to steer the vehicle back into its lane.

Rugged off-road capability
Go off the beaten track and create lasting memories. Plan a camping trip into the wild, or simply head down to the beach – the Everest lets you do it all. Over 80 percent of Chinese respondents said they want an SUV that can accommodate their families and meet their every need.

If the road gets rough, the Everest’s Terrain Management System (TMS) ensures it can tackle anything the world throws at it. At the turn of a dial, TMS can adjust the four-wheel-drive system on the fly to maximize traction and stability, whether you’re driving on snow, mud, grass, sand, rock or road.

When you return to civilization, the Everest will take you home in comfort. Its revised suspension geometry delivers a smoother, more comfortable ride. And Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) uses highly sensitive microphones to detect exterior and engine noise and then cancels it out using opposing sound waves. Your kids will be able to enjoy a sound sleep on the journey home after a fun day of adventures.

Whether you’re taking your kids out for a ride or planning a rugged vacation in the woods, the Ford Everest will be with you every step of the way. It takes you there in comfort, style and safety, and is the ideal vehicle for the family man.
