How to play music on your USB device or iPod

Use your voice to browse through media players like your iPod, or ask SYNCTM to play songs by name.

  • Plug your USB drive or media player into your car’s USB port.
    A special connection cable may be required for some devices.

  • Press the Voice button. SYNCTM will ask for a command.

  • Say: “USB”. SYNCTM will confirm your command.

  • To start playing music, say any of the following:
    “Shuffle on”
    “Play all”
    “Play artist <artist’s name>”
    “Play album <album name>”
    “Play genre <genre name, such as rock>”
    “Play playlist <playlist name>”
    “Play track <track name>”

  • Once music is playing, press the Voice button and say any of the previous commands, as well as:
    “Next track/Previous track”
    “Repeat on/Repeat off”
    “Shuffle off”
    “What’s playing”
    “Pause”
    “Similar music”

  • When you say a title or name, you need to say it exactly as it appears on your media player. e.g. don’t just say, “Play Star Wars.”
    Say, “Play album, Star Wars the motion picture soundtrack.”
